Job Purpose: As a Financial Controller, your main goal is to combine your financial management skills with your ability to lead growth and organizational sustainability through effective decision making based on accounting information. You will report directly to the CEO. This position will put you into a rapidly growing industry and will require you to have strong analytical skills, time management, resource management, and an ability to meet strict deadlines. Job Responsibilities: • Plan, develop, and continually enhance financial processes to ensure that strategies and systems are responsive to the mandate and requirements of Grasshopper Energy and its clients • Assist executive team members with budgeting, forecasting, taxation, financial decision making, and provide research and business intelligence on changes to accounting principles that are relevant to the organization’s financial operations • Ensure the reports that support financial statements of the organization are prepared in a timely manner and in compliance with GAAP, as well as with company policies and procedures • Identifies, reports and responds to issues regarding internal controls and procedures • Other financial tasks as assigned Qualifications: • Certified Management Accountant or Certified General Accountant designations; and • Bachelors degree in Business – Finance and/or Accounting; and • At least 7 years of financial or accounting experience in a corporate environment Skills Required: • Exceptional verbal communication skills, including presentation and negotiation skills • Strong relationship building and networking skills • Entrepreneurial drive and strong work ethic • Comfortable with the use of computer software, including but not limited to MS Office Suite, MS Outlook and Internet Explorer • Knowledge and experience using QuickBooks Interested applicants please forward in ONE WORD DOCUMENT (File Name: Fname Lname): 1.
