Senior Manager, Seniors Services


This is a full-time, 15 month contract management position, reporting to the Director of Operations. There is a possibility of extension.
Duties: Full duties are set out in the job description. Anyone interested in applying for this position is encouraged to obtain a copy from the HR Manager. A brief summary follows:

• Lead the Seniors Services Management Team in coordinating the work of the division.
• Work with the Senior Management Team to establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs.
• Respond to requests for proposals and write grant applications to develop new sources of funding and/or new initiatives within the scope of Seniors Services.
• Successfully manage the Seniors Services budget.
• Conduct regular programme evaluation and implement such modifications as are required.
• Ensure that clients receive appropriate and timely services, in a manner that respects their dignity.
• Develop partnerships and maintain relationships with key decision makers and partners.
• Collaborate to plan objectives and risk management strategies.
• Allocate resources to successfully implement the agency’s priorities, policies and programs.
• Identify and communicate relevant trends and key program performance measurements.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and keep up-to-date with emerging trends in service.
• Participate in agency meetings, events and fund-raising activities as required, (e.g. canvassing.)

Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in grant and proposal writing.
• The ability to motivate a diverse staff, delivering a range of services.
• The ability to advocate on behalf of the agency.
• A sound knowledge of the policies and objectives of the agency.
• The ability to resolve issues expressed by clients, staff, volunteers, and others.
• Preparedness to experience occasional exposure to filth and contagious disease, as well as irate and abusive persons.
• Competence with using a computer for research, writing, and budget and data management.

Qualifications:
• A post-secondary degree or diploma from a recognized institution.
• Five or more years of related professional experience.

A minimum of 37½ hours of work per week is expected, including evening, night, weekend, and/or on-call duty, as required.
Salary: $60,000-$68,000 commensurate with experience.
