| SENIOR MTS IC VERIFICATION ENGINEER Due to company growth, Atheros Communications is seeking an experienced SENIOR MTS IC VERIFICATION ENGINEER, to fill a newly created position within our dynamic engineering team in downtown Toronto (Ontario). This is a newly created, full time/direct hire position that reports to the Director of IC Verification. ABOUT OUR COMPANY Atheros Communications is a leading developer of semiconductor system solutions for wireless and other network communications products. Atheros combines its wireless and networking systems expertise with high-performance radio frequency (RF), mixed signal and digital semiconductor design skills to provide highly integrated chipsets that are manufactured on low-cost, standard complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) processes. Atheros technology is being used by a broad base of leading customers, including personal computer, networking equipment and consumer device manufacturers. JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES The individual selected for this position will be a key contributor and leader in the effort behind certifying that each IC Product meets all functional requirements according to: appropriate MRD/CRD, design specifications, and applicable industry standards. Creates test plan; conducts reviews; writes tests and provides functional coverage reports. Contributes to the scheduling process, and based on prior work experience provides guidance to teammates regarding task identification and duration of efforts. Ensures the schedule is adhered to and deadlines are met; works with management when pull-ins or projects changes occur. Manages gate level simulations; assists the Test & Product Development Teams with BIST and other testing concepts they encounter. Makes significant contributions to the Verification Plan, helping to define and implement solutions that achieve the Verification Team Goals. EDUCTION REQUIRED: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Strongly desired is Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 7 years or more of experience as an IC Verification Engineer. Significant prior work experience with HDL (VERILOG or VHDL) Years of demonstrated experience designing constrained-random and object-oriented verification environments (such as VERA, ?e?, System Verilog etc.) that led to a successful production release of a product Substantial prior work experience with an Engineering Verification Team, including having been responsible for the definition of and leadership of projects, team development of all plans-tests- test environments -regressions- reviews- and related scripts, defining project schedules, and meeting with management to communicate project status and discuss project issues. Significant prior work experience in developing business functional models (BFM) Prior work experience with the following to conduct regressions: digital simulators (VCS Preferred), LINUX, LSF (or equivalent) Experience scripting languages (TCL, PERL, MAKE, etc.) The following prior experience is highly desired but not required: verifying 3rd party embedded IP; working with embedded processors; assertion based concepts. Ability to travel on company business on an as needed basis (position currently budgeted for less than 3% Annual Travel Requirement) OTHER REQUIREMENTS MUST BE ABLE TO LEGALLY WORK IN ONTARIO (Canadian Citizenship, Current Work Authorization, Visa etc.). Must be available to immediate hire. Must have strong organization, communication, and concept presentation skills Will be required to adapt quickly to changing priorities/ deadlines.
