Overall responsibility
To play a key role in managing the weekly maintenance cycle of about 150, including but not limited to signing new clients, managing the work force, negotiating with suppliers, providing client support and maintenance of equipment. The maintenance manager is responsible for successful uninterrupted flow of maintenance work and all required repair work if necessary.
Duties
• Hire and train suitable team members – 2 people, minimum 4 interviews per position.
• Communicate daily team needs to logistics person (equipment repair, supplies, etc).
• Compile weekly schedules.
• Manage the team and actively participate in the execution of maintenance work.
• Assure all required equipment (and vehicle) are purchased and properly maintained.
• Provide ongoing client support (call back within 24 hours).
• Provide accountant with daily work done reports, and assure payroll issued on time.
• Advise and implement required changes to business flow.
Qualifications
• Customer service skills
• Gardening Skills are an asset
• Ability to endure 12-hour work day, under physically challenging conditions
• Attention to details, and proven organizational skills
• Team management experience
• Ability to lift a minimum of 20 kg
Start: Last week of April.
Niko's Gardening Inc. is based in Thornhill (Dufferin and Center area) and provides the GTA area with grass cutting and Sodding services. We are currently recruiting for the 2010 summer season, and are looking for talented and hard working university and college students.
Ideal candidates are morning persons (we start at 7:30!), ready to work hard, and able to learn fast. Basic gardening skills are an asset but not required. Proven ability to work in a team is essential.
