| Security Guard (Uniform) INDEPENDENT PROTECTION SERVICES INC. – Employment Openings Independent Protection Services Inc. is currently seeking persons to fill employment positions: Position Title: Security Guard (Uniform) Full Time / Part Time / Casual Location: Various Salary Range: $11.00 - $15.00 depending on experience. Position Responsibilities: The USG acts as a representative of IPS and as an agent of IPS clients. The USG may work in different types of client environments and his or her main function is to deter persons from committing offences. In some instances the USG will be required to apprehend an accused and turn them over to police. The work requires careful attention to detail and professionalism. The USG must comply with IPS policies and procedures, including the timely submission of weekly time sheets, and will perform other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required. Skills / Qualifications: *Pre-employment exam required. Requirements: Qualify for and obtain a security guard license from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services, minimum Grade 12 education, basic mathematical skills, clear written and verbal communications. Assets: Law and Security training, Police Foundation training, relevant work experience, knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada and the Trespass to Property Act, knowledge of first aid or CPR, second language. Personal traits: Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision but also take direction, able to deal professionally with hostile persons, able to remain alert for long periods of time, willing to do shift work including days, nights, midnight shifts, and weekends. Work Environment / Physical Requirements The USG can stand or walk for long periods of time and is able to work beyond the traditional workweek. There is a requirement for some travel within your work region. | |
