| ESL Teacher Who you are: A university graduate with a keen sense of adventure and a serious work ethic. You are proud of your work, take good care of yourself and you're interested in going overseas for a year or so to teach English and travel. You love children and you definitely have no criminal record of any kind. Who we are: We are an agency with offices in every major city in Canada and Korea. What we do is offer you support, security and high-fives from Pearson all the way to your school and apartment in Korea. In Toronto we'll help you arrange your visa and answer every question you might have about whatever you want to know from the school, accommodations, to culture or why all redheads are into science fiction and fantasy novels. In Korea we'll work with your school to make sure everything is running smoothly. We also work with a buddy system - we'll pair you with an eager young student or agency staff member so you'll have someone to call when you need to figure out how to order a pizza or find Western deoderant. And we do it all for free. What are the jobs like? Most jobs in Korea are similar in salary and benefits. The major difference is the character of the employers. 95% of foreign English teachers (like you!) work in private schools, but every one of these schools is run by a different owner. Sometimes there are problems with owners (as I'm sure you've heard). Another bonus of using us is that our agency has a relationship with the schools, so you'll have someone gunning for you if anything goes wrong. Typical salary and benefits: -Starting salaries of 2.2 million won/month (more if you've got extra qualifications like CELTA or TESOL/TEFL) -20,000 won/hr overtime (usually optional) -Furnished housing provided (sometimes shared with other teachers, sometimes single occupancy) -Round-trip airfare provided -Health insururance partly covered by the school -10++ days paid vacation -Reasonable working hours (30ish/week) -A rewarding and exciting experience!
