| Community Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator Community Outreach/Volunteer Coordinator Job Description The Community Outreach / Volunteer Coordinator will report to the Project Manager and Executive Director. Working closely with the staff team and community partners, the COV Coordinator will oversee the execution of our various projects, including: the 7th annual Queen West Art Crawl, Community Forums, Beautification Initiatives and public events during the summer and holiday seasons. The COV coordinator will have opportunities to take the lead on a specific project or event as well as be a key team member for all of our projects. Candidates MUST be part of a family unit that is in receipt of Ontario Works AND Ontario Child Benefits. Responsibilities • Lead with volunteer recruitment, orientate and management; • Help plan, implement and evaluate special events, festivals and meetings, including marketing and community outreach; • Develop opportunities for revenue generating activities; • Facilitate workshops and presentations to community organizations; • Monitor, support and generate website content; • Work collaboratively with staff, board of directors, committees, partnering organizations and volunteers; • Plan, develop, manage and update databases and contact lists; • Contribute to grant writing and related research; • Other duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications • Experience in event planning; • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines. • Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; • Excellent skills in developing and enhancing relationships with partners, volunteers, funders; • Ability to create accountability reports to stakeholders; • Comfortable working in a Windows environment; • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and some evenings; • Passion to contribute in the not-for-profit sector is a must. • Multi-lingual fluency an asset.
