Security Guard

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Shift, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening
Salary: $9.50 to $11.00 Hourly, 40 Hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Brampton, Ontario (4 vacancies)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Security Guard Licence
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Public event, Construction site, Shopping mall
Type of Assignments: Fixed post, Foot patrol, Patrol post
Specific Skills: Enforce regulations of establishments, Resolve conflict situations, Maintain order, Use telecommunications (i.e. two-way radio, cell phone, pager), Follow radio and emergency telephone procedures, Ensure safety and emergency procedures are followed, Control vehicular and pedestrian traffic, Respond to alarms, bomb threats and other emergencies, Detect or prevent thefts and vandalism, Write reports, Appear in court as witness
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver's validity licence check, Drug test
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Sitting, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
Work Location Information: Urban area
Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory, Continuous learning
