Software Developer As an interface and interactions software developer, you will be working with a team of specialists in developing applications prototypes to test and demonstrate research results related to data and real-time graphics. You will be required to interface with team members to help develop, integrate and compile components into application for workstations and other devices. You are expected to rely on strong interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment with professionals of various levels of knowledge. Qualifications ESSSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS • Degree in (Applied) Computer Science or Software Engineering. • 2-5+ years developing applications with a preference towards graphics, multi-threading, and remote processing. • Strong C++ skills and knowledge of semantic web. • Background knowledge in research, testing, and independent development of high quality software applications. • Working knowledge of database technologies - MySQL, MongoDB, etc. • Strong knowledge of software architectures and object oriented design. • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot responsibly within a multi-tasked structure. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in drafting proposals, reports, and functional specifications where required. • Capable and strong performer with good time management within rapid development environment. • The candidate is expected to take on software responsibilities and actively collaborate with other team members doing research and testing, and implementation of solutions for a finished product. ADDITIONAL ASSETS • Experience developing web based applications employing technologies such as JavaScript, Web Services and Relational Databases. • Front end experience - HTML, CSS, AJAX and any other relevant web technologies. • Experience with mobile device development and deployment • Knowledge or experience with real-time engines like Unity a plus • Working knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
