Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Solution Delivery, the Corporate and Business Application Team Lead is responsible for the leadership of Application Specialists and System Administrators. The group ensures our applications are meeting the business needs and are performing as expected. The Team Lead role is a hands-on position, focused on developing strong relationships with the business and contributing to the improvement of our overall application architecture. Key accountabilities include solution design, implementation, system administration, configuration management, production support, and application portfolio management. Focus will be placed on conducting, leading and coordinating solution delivery activities through day-to-day operations and during project initiatives. This role has leadership, communication, administration, support and technology components.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required;
• 10 or more years experience providing application support in a technical leadership capacity;
• Three (3) or more years in a people management position;
• Proven ability to build relationships and to influence individuals at all levels in the organization;
• Strong persuasion, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Strong analytical, organization, multitasking and prioritization skills;
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills;
• Demonstrated project management skills;
• CA, CGA, MBA or other similar designation is considered an asset;
• Ability to determine, prioritize and assign tasks to others to achieve project and team goals;
• Significant experience with a wide range of IT functions; a strong interest in application support, tools, application integrity and overall systems configuration;
• Demonstrated ability and desire to work effectively in a fast-paced, challenging team environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform as the project leader for complex projects and provide task direction and delegation to achieve project and team goals;
• Contribute to the strategic vision at the departmental and / or organization level;
• Provide guidance in developing and implementing detailed designs to meet the needs / requirements of customers including identifying tasks, resources, establishing timelines, communicating progress, and fully implementing solutions;
• Communicate department and project strategies to team members; communicate project strategy and deliver regular status updates to project team and management;
• Identify, evaluate and recommend improvements to group processes and technology solutions (i.e. monitoring standards, change / problem management);
• Provide teammates with workflow, design, build and testing and production environment readiness plan expertise to ensure successful implementations;
• Develop, coach and teach team on best practices;
• Assist with future project planning, scheduling, communication and implementation activities;
• Identify risks and issues and escalate as necessary;
• Responsible for system status reporting and change control;
• Ensure sound team procedures and quality team deliverables;
• Coordinate and collaborate with Application Developers, Information Services, Vendors, and other related tech staff as appropriate to achieve comprehensive solutions and to provide satisfactory services for the customer;
• Organize work, and manage internal procedures and resources to ensure maximum productivity;
• Participate in the recruitment process and selection of candidates for hire;
• Foster an environment in which others are encouraged to be innovative;
• Work with team members to define career development plans, assess the alignment goals, and ensure resources are available;
• Provide input for compensation evaluations and recommend adjustments for staff;
• Conduct performance reviews and recommends candidates for promotion;
• Other duties as assigned.
